“What you want… Well the problem with that expression is that it’s frequently at odds with what’s right.”
So aside from being very much affected by a movie I watched a while ago, I spent some time with my mom and sister in Megamall, wished I was in the Penshoppe PFW show to see Leighton Meester and Mario Maurer, and watched Avengers for the 2nd time. I loved the lazy boy chairs in the cinema :)

Hmmm… How do I start this? :))
Let’s see. Okay, so… though my day started out with the usual routine (leave the house early, commute, internship, lunch…), a little twist happened in the afternoon after two of my friends and I agreed to go see Joe Jonas who arrived here in Manila yesterday.
At first I was on an unusual fan girl mode as I knew that there are currently three big celebrities near me and another one will arrive on or before saturday of the same week!
- Lady Gaga - for her Born This Way Ball at the new Arena. She stayed in Makati Shang! It’s just a few blocks away from where I work! In fact, the hotel is among the many buildings I see from my window! (See previous posts for a picture of the view.)
- Ian Somerhalder - for Penshoppe. He was in Palawan for a couple of days, but I think he came back to Mnl yesterday as he tweeted that he was in Lady Gaga’s concert @-) ugh. I should’ve been there! One venue. Two stars.
- Joe Jonas - for Bench. He arrived yesterday.
- Leighton Meester - for Penshoppe too! Queen B’s gonna walk on the runway of Penshoppe for the Philippine Fashion Week on saturday! And I don’t have a freakin ticket! So here I am, frustrated as hell :(
So much just for a week, right? And so I thought… now that they’re reachable, why don’t I just take a chance to see at least one of them? Lady Gaga’s out of the question… I couldn’t watch the concert cos it was too late to join the promos online and I couldn’t just go to her hotel and stalk wait for her. One down. Three more to go! As Ian’s whereabouts aren’t exactly available on the internet, but Joe’s was posted on twitter! So I took a chance. Though I wasn’t much of a fan (I could’ve been head over heels if Nick came too!), I still went to see him :)
I left the office earlier (and now I’m making up for the number of hours I spared) and started my walking adventure to Glorietta. Even after a month of working in Makati, I’m still not familiar with the streets, landmarks, and routes I could use to go from one place to another. Fortunately, I haz Maps :D

I consulted and received these directions from the app. I looked out my window and realized that everything is much clearer if you’re on higher ground. You get to see what’s ahead. You could plan the paths you’ll walk on, the turns you’ll take, and foresee much more than if you’re down there, on the streets, unguided, and blinded by many things. This isn’t my original realization though. One of my best friends once told me the same thing as she shared an experience she had during a flight. Those thoughts just came to my mind as I stared down from 35 storeys high and traced the route given by the app. Anyway, I used the Makati Shangri-la Hotel as a landmark in tracing the route and so I easily understood the directions given.
It was around 2:30 when I left the office and started my adventure to Glorietta.
I took a shortcut through the Ayala Triangle,

then to Makati Avenue,

and Ayala Avenue.

I reached Glorietta after 15 minutes and I immediately searched for the Bench outlet which happens to be in Glorietta 5.
My two friends who agreed to come along with me arrived before 3pm too. We waited outside the outlet together with about 40-50 other people. Joe Jonas arrived later than the scheduled 3pm arrival, but we didn’t wait too long. He came from the back and passed right in front of us :)

It was a fast encounter with him as he entered the store right away. The fans continued to wait by the entrance and screamed every time Joe looked at them :)) We decided to wait for a little while just in case we’d have a chance to see him again and if we’re lucky enough, have a picture taken with him (like that one girl in pink who took a picture with him as he got off the elevator). Unfortunately, he passed the other way :)) Oh well. We left G5 and went to the food court for merienda. After that, F and I rode the MRT, walked back home, changed to our training clothes, and headed to school. We trained til around 9:30. I returned a book I borrowed, bought my late dinner from Mcdo (fast food, as always @-) not. good.), walked going home, took a bath, ate dinner, and went to bed.
I remember I said that I’d like to see even at least one of them… but after seeing Joe, I’m not yet satisfied :| I really would like to have a chance to see Ian and Leighton! :(( Ian will be in MOA tomorrow, but. I. have. work. UGH.
